Tsleil-Waututh Nation’s Participation in the 2025 Juno Awards

Tsleil-Waututh Nation alongside our relatives in xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) partnered with the 2025 Juno Awards to welcome Junos artists, staff, and audience members to our ancestral and unceded territories and ensure representation from the Host Nations during the high-profile events held from March 27 to March 30, 2025 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Chief Jen Thomas, Councillors Charlene Aleck and Dennis Thomas represented Tsleil-Waututh Nation at various Juno events while TWN Member Rueben George graced the Juno Awards main stage to provide a traditional welcome on behalf of the Host Nations and introduce Indigenous performers.

William George-Thomas and Les George represented the Nation by providing a traditional welcome alongside Musqueam and Squamish leaders at the JUNOS Block Party and several səlilwətaɬ drummers and youth ushers were part of a meaningful welcome at the JUNOS Honouring Ceremony with Indigenous Juno nominees. Artist Mark George also participated in the Indigenous Vendors Marketplace.
