Tsleil-Waututh Nation Releases 2023-24 Annual Report

In səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation)’s 2023-2024 Annual Report, we feature projects and stories from all corners of the Nation, highlighting how we continue to progress on key priorities around cultural, language, economic, and environmental revitalization, according to the needs of our Membership.

The report is divided into seven main sections to reflect on the priorities and initiatives of Tsleil-Waututh Nation’s Departments. Financial statements, prepared under Canadian public sector accounting standards and the TWN’s Financial Administration Law (2015) and approved by Chief and Council, include information on the Nation’s operational and financial performance for the previous fiscal year.

Our səlilwətaɬ community continues to grow and so does the need for programs and services. Review a snapshot of our Membership’s growth over the past decade and highlights on how we are building capacity within our community and Nation’s departments to meet evolving needs. Take note of the growth of our TWN-owned businesses, and how we’re leading in economic development based upon Tsleil-Waututh values. Learn hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ words that are important in səlilwətaɬ culture and enjoy unique illustrations by Tsleil-Waututh artists.

We hope that you find this report meaningful in understanding how səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation) has worked towards restoring and protecting our language, culture, and traditional lands, and empowered Tsleil-Waututh self-governance and self-determination within our territory, guided by our laws, priorities, and mandates.

By paddling together, we are strengthening the face of Tsleil-Waututh Nation on our traditional territory around səlilwət (Burrard Inlet) and securing a thriving future for the next seven generations.
