*Temporary position – summer – May 15th to August 30th (possibility of extending to September)* 

Attention all young individuals interested in growing food and enjoying outdoor activities! We have an exciting job opportunity for you to work with the Community Garden Team. Your role will be to work with the garden team to grow food in the TWN Community garden and hydroponics container, while also helping out with youth gardening, food distribution, food processing and hosting community barbeques and events.

Qualifications: 

• Youth ages 18-30 due to funding requirements
• Some prior experience in food growing is preferred
• Some experience cooking
• You should be willing to work outside, performing repetitive tasks such as planting, weeding, watering and harvesting
• You must possess a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
• You should demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience working with youth and members of the community is a bonus

Job Requirements:  

• You will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions, so physical fitness is important
• You should have good manual dexterity and be able to perform repetitive bending and kneeling
• The ability to lift to 45lbs. is important
• You should be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods
