The Canucks for Kids Fund is the charitable arm of Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE) and raises more than $4 million annually to support a variety of children’s charities in BC, as well as execute a core group of vital programs. Leading a team of two direct reports, the incumbent will work closely with the Sr. Director, Community Partnerships and other departments to ensure the ongoing strength of our reputation in the community.

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the CFKF team, while also participating as a hands-on member of the CFKF team
  • Develop a 5-year strategic plan
  • Act as primary liaison to all CFKF charitable partners
  • Collaborate with the CFKF board of directors, recommending strategies and programs and acting as the liaison between the CFKF board and CSE
  • Develop and oversee all donor relations activities, including servicing of existing donors and creating and executing new strategies to secure new donors and grow revenue in support of CFKF
  • Oversee and lead CFKF signature events and execute in certain areas such as auction, marketing plan, etc.
  • Develop and execute new and innovative fundraising initiatives to grow revenue
  • Oversee and facilitate education programs
  • Develop communication strategy to report back to donors, fans and other key stakeholders
  • Solicit sponsors for signature fundraising events
  • Work game nights as needed

Board Management

  • Prepare for quarterly meetings, recommending strategies and fundraising initiatives and updating on all active programs and initiatives
  • Receive updates from beneficiaries and report back to the board on how the funds are being spent

Beneficiary Relationships

  • Manage relationships with all beneficiaries, working with them on signature events, supporting their events and bringing their requests of CSE to the appropriate department(s)
  • Oversee execution of applicable programs, including Fin’s Friends, Trevor Linden Scholarship Program, and more

Signature Events

  • Review and analyze current event portfolio with an eye for refreshing or changing existing line up
  • Drive the overall success of signature events hosted by CFKF, including nightly 50/50 program at both Canucks and Warriors games, securing sponsorships, executing various elements including auctions, and supporting the Sr. Manager, CFKF Events on overall event planning


  • Report to donors and fans, and publish an annual report



  • 5+ years’ community relations experience, preferably within a related industry
  • A degree in marketing, communications, business administration or related field
  • Experience with not for profit governance and operating models
  • Proven abilities in donor relation
  • Strategic thinker, with excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to build, motivate and lead teams
  • Superior communication and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, donors, suppliers, and partners while maintaining appropriate confidentiality
  • Ability to handle conflicting deadlines and prioritize
  • High degree of integrity, ethics and dedication
  • Flexibility to work events (evening, weekends & holidays)
